The Friends of St Candida was created to help provide financial and practical support without a religious tie.
Some Friends are regular Anglican churchgoers, many are not; some belong to other denominations, or none. All want this exceptional building to remain a living part of village life, to care for its fabric and to hand it on undiminished to future generations.
By becoming a Friend you can help ensure that this happens. All the money we raise is used exclusively for St Candida and Holy Cross and none goes into general funds for the diocese as a whole. Our effort is in addition to the contribution of the parochial church council.
Being a Friend is fun, and you’ll become part of a welcoming circle of like-minded people. In the past few years we’ve organised a range of activities including concerts, talks and community coffee mornings as well as trips out to stately homes, Taunton Racecourse and other places of interest. Our regular emails keep you in touch with our events and initiatives.
There’s no pressure to attend events, and we won’t keep asking you for money. You pay an annual subscription or take out a life membership and that’s it, unless you choose to give more. We hope you will join us!
Membership of the Friends is by annual subscription or life membership:
Annual membership, single £15
Annual membership, couple £25
Life membership, single £100
Life membership, couple £150
Of course, you’re welcome to make an additional donation if you’d like to help us further.
